Pancakes

Pancakes are so versatile and can be offered to babies from 7m plus as a great Baby Led Weaning food. Just make sure all ingredients have been offered and tolerated INDIVIDUALLY first before you introduce together in this form - as eggs, wheat, peanut butter are allergens and should be introduced slowly and one at a time. (See post on allergens)

You can make pancakes with anything in the cupboard. Out of flour? Use oats instead! Out of eggs? Just use milk! Out of milk? Use yogurt! Plus I never add sugar and use mashed bananas, dates, figs etc to add sweetness. However you make them, the kids love them!
. 👩‍🍳 Ingredients:
- 1 cup oat flour/ or chakki aata (wholewheat flour)
- Peanut butter 2 Tbs (optional)
- 2 mashed dates
- 1 overripe Banana
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1 egg
- Butter to cook
.
.
☝🏼Method:
Mash the banana and add in the whisked egg, peanut butter, mashed dates and milk - now add oat flour and stir it in to make a paste like pakora paste consistency. Heat some butter in a pan and place the paste using a teaspoon. Turn when it starts to bubble.
Serve with yogurt, honey (12m plus), fruit, nuts! .

Apple Pie Porridge

Here is something I whipped up for breakfast because Armaan wanted a “warm porridge” because the 3 bears have porridge and it makes them strong! 🐻 🐻 🐻

Ingredients for Cinnamon Apple Porridge:
✔️ 1/2 cup Dalia/oats
✔️ 1/2 cup Water (add more if evaporates)
✔️Dash of Milk
✔️1tsp Chia seeds
✔️1 Apple
✔️Dash of cinnamon powder
✔️3/4 Dates
✔️A few Walnuts

In a pan heat the oats with water on low heat - add chia seeds and some milk. Cut up the fleshy part of dates and add them in while stirring so it mashes up (remove pit ofcourse) until it’s creamy.
In a separate pan add a tbs of butter and slices of apples with some cinnamon powder.. add a tbs of water and cover and let it steam.

In a dish pour in the porridge, place the steamed apples on top and crush in walnuts. Serve with honey!

These #popsicles are also great for your #teething #babies to help sooth those gums 🤗
